The Stand as One project is about to change the South African social landscape. It is a project aimed at youth development and the moral rejuvenation of young people.

Andries Hendrik Potgieter, together with Huisgenoot Tempo's Reader's Choice Songwriter, Waldo Greeff, wrote a national prayer for the youth of South Africa. The song is the new anthem for the youth, to be played at all major national events, such as Youth Day and Heritage Day celebrations.

It serves as a positive injection in these trying times where young people have to face daily challenges such as poverty, unemployment and a bleak future. While the song itself cannot change a person's circumstances, believing that God's in control of our future, will give each and every young person the drive to stand up and make a difference.

Stand as One is performed in three languages, English, Afrikaans and Zulu. The world renowned SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR, well-known singer and SAMA winner, NEDINE BLOM and ANDRIES HENDRIK Potgieter, have been hard at work to record the anthem. Soweto Gospel Choir has performed worldwide and has wowed audiences and reviewers alike. The Choir has received many local and international awards including two Grammys. Andries Hendrik and Nedine are also collaborating with the young Namibian artist, TIRO, to sing the National Anthem.

Celebrities behind the Stand As One project

No political strings attached

Political leaders and prominent South Africans have all jumped at the opportunity to support this project because it has no political connotations. For once everyone is unite behind a common goal, to ensure hope and a better future for our young people.
The song has no political connotations, however, political parties such as the Democratic Alliance and the Freedom Front Plus have already endorsed the project because of its proposed positive effect on youth development. Other important partners include Solidarity, Afriforum, Helpende Hand, the National Youth Development Agency, the National Employers Association of South Africa and the South African Council of Churches. All of them have agreed to give the project the necessary platform and exposure to ensure that Stand as One reaches every corner of the country.

The CD comprises the three versions of the Stand as One song, produced by Byron Kuntz. In an aim to instill national pride among our youth, Nedine, Andries Hendrik and Tiro have also recorded the National Anthem. Andries Hendrik and Nedine's duet of the Afrikaans version of The Prayer, made famous by Celine Dion and Andria Bocelli, will wow the listeners. The final two songs include Andries Hendrik's first solo, Ons Huis Is Hier, and Nedine's Hoor Jy My Stem in die Nag. It will be available on CD and DVD in more than 400 music stores nationwide (already available from Musica) from March 2011.
